Each of these books focusses on helping students acquire social emotional learning to develop self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, build relationships and make responsible decisions. They are also very diverse to allow students to see themselves within the book characters, making a classroom more equitable for all students. Each of these books will be read aloud to students, discussing how each character acts and responds to different emotional needs. Students will be given an opportunity in small and whole groups to share their thoughts and feelings of how they would respond and feel in the varies situations that present themselves in the books.
