I want to help my students improve their comprehension of reading and math concepts through the use of daily center games. Many of my students struggle with basic math skills and reading strategies so in addition to direct teaching, these games will give them opportunities to practice reinforcing those skills toward mastery (secretly learning) while having fun at the same time. When students enjoy an activity, it keeps them motivated. These games will also help them learn how to work together to achieve a goal. They will learn to work collaboratively to solve problems and improve their reading strategies, comprehension and fluency. The family games will be signed out periodically for "family night" at home so that parents can be involved in connecting with their child's learning.
