These donations will greatly help my classroom to become not only more organized but will also allow the students to become more creative with the material they will be presenting in our class projects. The students often are very excited when I introduce a class project but it often can only be completed on poster boards (boring!) In my class (American Literature) we do a debate project where the students work with a partner to create a board of proof, complete with quotes and pictures, to prove which American writer we've studied makes the best persuasive argument. I believe that the easel post it paper/chalkboard roll of paper/large post it notes will add a greater excitement and newness to the project. The students can "post" their arguments while other students can read them and comment on them in a gallery walk style activity. I think that the chalkboard sticky roll, the large sticky notes, and the easel post it pads especially will create a fun and enjoyable alternative to the "poster board" projects. Another part of my project deals with organizational tools for my classroom. For example, the organizer rolling bin is a must for my classroom since I teach six different class periods a day. I would be using this as a more organized way for students to turn in their papers. I also have included some basic school supplies such as pens, markers, liquid chalk, manila folders, etc. These are normally purchased by me at the start of the school year. I often by these item to help keep my students more organized. Some students come to class each day needing a new school supply. I would provide these for students in my student center to help them with these basic needs.
