  • Wireless and Beyond!

    Funded Oct 11, 2018

Thank you for your generous donation of three wireless mouse and keyboard sets for our classroom. My students and I are very grateful and truly appreciative.

Thanks to your generous donation, I have been able to maximize each student's learning time while visiting the Computer Center where students use an exceptional early reading, math and science learning program. By adding a wireless mouse and keyboard set to each computer, the students have been able to focus on what they are learning rather than trying to untangle the many keyboard and mouse wires that can be very distracting. Consequently, the students have been showing increased focus and enjoying a more enriching learning experience.

My students now visit the tangle free Computer Center daily where they have been strengthening their technology, literacy, math and science skills. Thank you again for your generous donation to our classroom and for your investment in the future of our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Meyer

  • Engineering in Pre-K with Magnificent Magna-Tiles!

    Funded Apr 9, 2018

Thank you for your generous donations to our Engineering in Pre-K with Magnificent Magna-Tiles project! My students and I are very grateful and truly appreciative. I wish that you could have seen and heard the students' excitement when I showed them the Magna -Tiles.

Your generosity has ensured that more students can visit the Math and Science Center and work with materials that expose them to higher order thinking skills. These materials allow students to create on flat surfaces and/or to build three dimensional structures that require imagination, spatial reasoning and critical thinking skills. They also develop patterning, shape recognition, classification and fine motor skills. The students have so much fun creating and building that they do not even realize they are developing and strengthening critical thinking skills.

Your generous donation will enable more students to develop the skills that are necessary to become active problem solvers that can work through any and all problems. Thank you for investing in our students and in their future!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Meyer

  • It DOES Compute!

    Funded Oct 10, 2017

Thank you for your generous donation of a new computer for our classroom. My students and I are very grateful and truly appreciative. I wish that you could have heard the students' applause and cheers when I showed them the new computer.

Thanks to your generous donation, we now have three working computers in our Computer Center which will ensure that all students are able to visit the Computer Center daily. Enabling all students to visit the Computer Center on a daily basis allows them to have access to an exceptional educational software program that provides instruction in early reading, math and science. The personalized learning software program adapts automatically to give each student a unique learning experience tailored to his or her own skill level and pace. The students love to visit the computer center and don't even realize that they are learning.

Visiting the Computer Center daily has given the students another resource for strengthening their technology, literacy, math and science skills while enriching their learning experience immeasurably . Thank you again for your generous donation to our classroom and for your investment in the future of our students.”

  • Don't Drop the Mic-rophone!

    Funded Aug 7, 2017

My students and I are very appreciative of your donation of microphones and a PA System to

our classroom. When I informed my Pre-K students of your donation, there was such excitement in the air. The children erupted in applause and I could hear "This is going to be awesome!" and "I'm going to be famous!"

Thanks to your generous donation, the students have used the microphones and PA System to give news and weather "reports" to our class, to describe their Show and Tell items, to reenact books we have read and to sing and perform for their classmates. All of the students have wanted to use the microphones--even students who were initially to shy to speak publicly in front of their classmates wanted to participate.

Your donation is helping to develop and strengthen my Pre-K students oral language and communication skills. These are fundamental skills that they will need as they continue on their educational journey and well into adulthood. Being able to use microphones and a PA system with the students has also increased their attention spans and heightened their level of engagement while learning.

Overall, your donation has enriched the students' learning experience immeasurably and strengthened their oral language and communication skills. Thank you again for your generous donation to our classroom and for your investment in the future of our students.”

  • iRead, iAdd, iLearn, iPad!

    Funded Apr 4, 2017

My students and I are very appreciative of your donation of four iPad Airs to our classroom. Thanks to your generous donation, we now have enough iPads for each individual student to use an iPad in small groups during our Focused Instruction segment of the day. For many children, this is now their favorite part of the day. Using iPads during Focused Instruction has allowed me to provide my students with differentiated instruction. While some students are using apps that increase their letter identification and letter sound recognition, other students are using apps that help them sound out simple words and solve basic math problems.

The students and I have also been able to use the iPads as cameras. We take pictures as we learn throughout the day. The students love seeing their pictures played back to them on the iPads and also on our interactive white board. Parents have been included in the fun as well and are enjoying seeing these pictures on our class website.

Being able to use iPads with the students has increased their attention spans and heightened their level of engagement while learning. Overall, the iPads have enriched the students' learning experiences immeasurably, strengthened their technology skills and developed their literacy and math skills. Thank you again for your generous donation to our classroom and for your investment in the future of our students.”

  • iPad, Therefore I Am!

    Funded Oct 5, 2016

My students and I are truly appreciative for your donation of two IPad Airs to our classroom. Thanks to your generous donation, we now have four Ipads in our Technology Center and have increased the students' exposure to learning through technology. When I informed my Pre-K students about your donation, there was audible and visible excitement among the students. I heard, "This is the best day ever!" and "I hope I can be the photographer!" As you can imagine, that day ALL the students wanted to attend the Technology Center and try out the new IPads.

I have already incorporated the IPads into our Technology Center and been able to provide the students with differentiated instruction. While some students are using apps that increase their letter identification and letter sound recognition, other students are using apps that help them sound out simple words and solve basic math problems. I have also been able to use the IPad as a camera and taken pictures of the students as they learn throughout the day. They have loved seeing their pictures played back to them on the Ipads and also on our interactive white board. • Namaste-ing Healthy!

    Funded Aug 5, 2016

My Pre-K students and I truly appreciate your donation of activity mats, yoga mats and DVDs. When I informed my Pre-K students about your donation, there was clapping and cheering galore. I heard, "I love yoga!" and "I do yoga with my mommy all the time!"

We have already begun incorporating the activity mats during our indoor recess time to help students learn about strengthening their cardiovascular system through activities such as jumping, hopping, marching and skipping. At the conclusion of these cardiovascular activities, we have used our yoga mats to learn stress relieving techniques that simultaneously allow the students to develop their strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. The yoga DVDs have proven exceptionally age appropriate, and the students have found the yoga poses to be easy and fun to imitate.

I have photographed the children while they use these resources and shared the pictures with their parents on our class website and they are very appreciative as well. Thank you again for your generous donation to our classroom and for your investment in the future health and wellness of our students.”

  • Introducing Technology to the Prekindergarten Classroom

    Funded Oct 13, 2015

Words cannot express how appreciative my students and I are for your donation of two IPad Airs to our classroom's Technology Center. When I informed my Pre-K students about your donation, there were audible squeals of delight and unprompted applause. I heard, "I can't wait to go to the IPad center!" and "That is awesome!" Of course, that day ALL the students wanted to attend the Technology Center and try out the new IPads.

I have already incorporated the IPads into our Technology Center where students are using apps that teach them how to trace the letters of the alphabet, sound out simple words, solve basic math problems, create Lego structures, and the list goes on. I have also been able to use the IPad as a camera and taken pictures and videos of the students as they learn throughout the day. They have loved seeing their pictures and videos played back to them on our interactive white board. I have also included these pictures on my class website for parents to enjoy.

Being able to use IPads with the students has heightened their level of engagement while learning. It has helped develop their attention spans which in turn makes them better learners. The IPads have also begun to strengthen their technology skills while simultaneously developing their literacy and math skills. Thank you again for your generous donation to our classroom and for your investment in the future of our students.”

I have the best job in the world! I start my work day with warm hugs and beautiful smiles from twenty preschool children. They are a diverse group of students who come from all types of cultural, ethnic and economic backgrounds. They are eager to learn and grow. For many, this is their first time attending school and it is very rewarding for me to watch them develop. Despite their varying backgrounds, however, they all share a love of technology. We have an interactive white board that I use every day and it is fascinating to see how much more engaged they are in these particular lessons. Working with one interactive board and twenty children, however, minimizes each child's actual personal one on one time with the board. Consequently, I am searching for ways to expose the students' one on one time with technology. Adding Ipads to our Technology Center would enable children to take turns attending that center and work for a prolonged period of time using Ipads.
