I teach 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders Jewelry making at a 50+ year old school. My students vary in expertise and experience because my classes are mixed with beginning, intermediate, and advanced students. Some of our facilities are outdated and worn, but our kids strive to be the best they can and work around limitations on a daily basis. I had a student that was an exceptional jeweler, however he was limited in what he could do in our class due to the lack of equipment. I strongly feel that having some of the technology that is used in the industry today he might have felt more prepared to pursue a job that showcased his talents.

About my class
