This project will give students access to curriculum books that they can spend time reading and exploring! It will provide students with opportunities to look at photos or illustrations, and make connections to or wonder about words and phrases they don't know. These module texts will allow for each student in our second-grade classrooms to have access to his or her own copy of the books. Each module of the curriculum that we use requires second-graders to find text evidence to support their writing. Students work at various paces and these books would ensure that students can explore texts and independently work without having to share copies.
