My students are freshmen students that are full of energy and intelligence. They enjoy telling stories and have expressed a desire to read new books. When asked what they wanted to read, many mentioned recently released books. I want to encourage this desire to read with supplying the books that the students want to read. As long as the students are reading and learning how to think about what they are reading, I will let them read books that aren't the classic novels that are normally taught. I believe that an engaging book comes in many different styles. The students have chosen a couple books to begin the year, and I hope we will get the chance to vote and get even more books. Our school is small school that doesn't have the resources or funding needed to provide classroom sets of the books the students would like to read. However, our school will do everything it can to encourage the students to learn and succeed and will look outside the school for funding, if necessary.
