I am requesting stickers, keyrings, small balls, toys and other prizes. I am trying to reward my students for being responsible and respectful as well as going above and beyond in the classroom. One thing I really want to instill this year are the benefits of saving. Students are not rewarded with prize box each day. Instead, they have to save up Class Dojo points in order to have enough for prize box and can only "cash in" on Fridays. There are other less tangible rewards to save up for as well such as sitting by a friend day, sitting at the teacher's desk day, stinky feet no shoes day, etc. For those students who do save for prize box, it is difficult for me to continue to fill it throughout the year due to expense. My class is in a Title 1 School, therefor they receive reduced breakfast and lunch. Many families struggle to reward their children for doing well in school. Because of this, they are so very grateful for anything they are able to receive.
