My goal is to help children understand what their optimal learning styles are by providing alternative seating to learn as they are moving their bodies. This ideal classroom setting will offer traditional and non-traditional seating options so that children can find what works for them. My students need to move and create opportunities to increase their motor pathways for learning. Having alternative seating to support movement is crucial for brain development. Flexible classrooms empower student choice, increase student engagement, and improve student participation. Evolving the classroom space to meet students’ individual needs impacts how they learn, how they interact, and the entire classroom experience. I want to be able to provide them with comfortable seating (Balance Ball Chairs, Kneeling Chair, and Plastic Stack Stools) and many choices so they can choose a seat that works best for their wiggle and learning needs.
