This class is a mix of female and male students that represent 7 different cultural backgrounds. As 7th graders, many of these students received interventions, detentions and suspensions. As 8th graders now, they belong to a class family, and they belong on campus. We have created a class structure requiring daily check-in with teachers, a weekly progress report, elected class positions, work in a class committee and the fulfillment of a signed contract. The class is pulling from many sources of instruction to create an environment of success for these students including PBIS, The Gentleman's Club, The Ladies' Club, Restorative Justice and "Bricks and Bridges."
