Having the seating like "a home" will allow our students to learn in a realistic setting for daily living skills. Since they are learning about living in an apartment or house and life skills within the home, it is easier to transfer learning. The closer it can be to the "real" thing the more likely they will be able to apply it to their life. The students will learn daily living skills by practicing skills in a "home" setting. They will practice setting the table, serving food, and cleaning the table. They will practice social skills in a living room setting, along with how to interact appropriately.
