I will use the incubator as a tool to teach students how to observe and record data. Eggs make a perfect project for many reasons. The progress of the chicks can be tracked through candling. Temperature and humidity variables can be manipulated for the perfect hatch rate. All of this data can be recorded to produce a scientific rational for the optimal process in our classroom. The fruit of the students labor can be held and loved on. It's quick. 21 days of incubation will produce chicks in most breeds, so the process can be repeated many times. We will donate the chicks to a community chicken farm that provides eggs to needy families.
