These instruments will not only allow my students to achieve performance standards, but will strengthen their skills in rhythm madness in reading music notation using the instruments. They have been working on note identification and duration, so transferring that knowledge to instruments, will allow them to see how all of that information they learned will carry over to their performance skills. We do not have an adequate amount of instruments at this time, so this also will give me the opportunity to expose them to more lessons that involve instrumental standards, rather than just being theory based in the classroom.
