I am requesting an All-Purpose Teaching Easel, magnetic letters and alphabet stamps to make my reading intervention classes more engaging and exciting. These materials will encourage my students to interact with reading using hands-on experiences manipulating words. Understanding how words work will not only help students improve in their reading but also in their writing. Magnetic letters allow students to manipulate letters and words. These not only benefit the younger students, but also older students learning about root words and affixes. The easel will help me involve my students in sharing the pen as we write about our reading, with summaries, graphic organizers, and other responses to literature. These materials will help my students succeed and catch up to their peers in reading.
