The classroom is a self-contained EMD Neuro class, and 8 out of 9 students are diagnosed with autism. Each of my students have their own unique personality, which includes their own unique way of learning. Our days are never dull and filled with excitement, be it behaviors, new learning, or accomplished goals! Each day, we work towards meeting specific individualized education goals in small groups, as well as receiving whole group instruction with a curriculum called UNIQUE. We are supported by our amazing school family. While we are not a Title 1 school, we are only a few percentage points away. Because of this, we do not receive Title 1 funding though we have a high percentage of students living in poverty. We are blessed by what we have been given, but we certainly have room for growth!
