Although my students are considered middle school aged, most only read at a lower elementary level. We are a special school that caters to K-12, and we have the most challenged students in our district. Some may be Autistic, some have severe emotional disorders, and many had very rough beginnings. It is especially important that we reach these students, and keep them from dropping out. Many are frustrated because they have learning disabilities, and they need many extra pushes to gain reading ability.
