I teach 3rd grade to a class of 20 ravenous readers at an urban charter school. Our school serves students who are 70% English Language Learners and 80% qualify for free and reduced lunch. While most of my students LOVE to read more than half of them are reading below grade level. We are all working diligently together to improve our reading comprehension and prepare ourselves for the challenges of 4th grade.
