My students need to be provided multiple modes of instruction and materials in order to help grow and generalize what they have learned. Access to technology, such as an iPad, would be a great mode to help my students learn how to read and write. The iPad would provide access to technology and a mode of learning that is fun and motivating! I would use many of the education apps that are available on the iPad to teach phonics and phonemic awareness, the foundational skills of reading. The iPad would also provide another way to learn how to write their name and letters of the alphabet instead of traditional pencil and paper activities.
