Replacing desks with tables will create a lot more floor space for flexible seating. Giving students the opportunity to work more in small groups will build a better community atmosphere. We work on building good social skills with each other and being in a small group will help accomplish this skill. Tables will also help students stay more organized with their materials and working space. I buy many supplies for the community and having students at tables will help with sharing bins of supplies. Only having the community supplies on the table will help with distracting students going into desks for unimportant items.
