I work in an extremely rural area with lots of farming. My students come from various socioeconomic levels. Over fifty percent of our school participates in the free and reduced lunch program. Our school is the heart of the community. I have never seen a more welcoming, loving group of teachers, staff members, and administrators. Nearly half of the school faculty graduated from this school district. People come back to serve in their community. The students at our school can feel that we genuinely care for them, and in turn, they develop strong relationships with us. The school desperately wants to engage our students in their learning as a way to decrease behavior issues and increase retention. Students who are engaged are able to comprehend more information. Our goal is to prepare our students using all of the resources that are available to us, so they can become contributing society members.

About my class
