My 2nd graders are predominately children of hispanic heritage. My campus is a bilingual academy, which means we have many students who speak english as their second language instead of their first. After 17 years as a third grade teacher, my new role as a second grade teacher has been a wonderful change. My amazing kids have had to do a lot of adjusting this school year and have always kept a positive attitude. I love reading and I want my class to love it too. Due to COVID safety guidelines, my class hasn't had the opportunity to have a stash of books in their desks, so my read alouds are so critical this school year. Your donations help me bring quality, engaging literature into my classroom and most importantly, into the lives of my students. Thank you!
