Students at my school are 75% Economically Disadvantaged which will limit the exposure to technology, careers in STEM, and opportunities to leave poverty behind. Exposure to different forms of technology and careers in STEM can allow for the students that I serve to have the opportunity to leave poverty behind. Middle school students are learning how to think, learning how to process information, and learning how to be productive learners who are in charge of their own learning. Providing them with technology resources readily available in the classroom will expand their ability to learn the skills needed to be a 21st Century Learner who can communicate effectively, collaborate to solve problems, and use technology to guide their learning.
