I work at a Renaissance school. It is a Title I school with 96% of the student population receiving free or reduced meals. My classroom is part of a blended prekindergarten program in which half of the students are part of a Voluntary prekindergarten Program (VPK) and the other half are students with varying disabilities (EELP= Early Exceptional Learning Program). Their chronological ages are between 3 and 5 but some are developmentally at a lower age range. The program is designed to help all of the students, with or without learning or physical disabilities, to reach their highest potential through the provision of early intervention throughout all learning domains ( Physical Development, Cognitive, Social-Emotional, Language and Literacy, as well as other areas that address the whole child).
