Art plays an essential role in children's mental and emotional well being. It gives everyone the chance to express feelings and creativity. Art helps boost self-esteem and encourage self expression. It is a great way to relieve stress and promote self confidence. These things are very important to help deal with COVID-19. My students are always asking to work with different materials. The most requested and favorite is clay. We currently do not have a school kiln and I have been taking projects home to fire in my very, very, old personal kiln. I am extremely limited in the number and quality of student work that can be produced. I would love to give the students the opportunity to create and fire quality clay and glass pieces they can be proud of.
