Our students are team players. They are primarily African-American or Hispanic, and a high percentage of them are special education students. A majority of them come from low-income households. These students have recently begun a new journey, as they are now in middle school. Standards are as strict as they have ever been, and my students have experienced significant gain in their education thus far, partly due to their interaction and participation in soccer! Despite the tough realities that they have faced, they still appear eager to learn and better themselves. Soccer allows students to use thinking skills which enhances the thought process within the classroom.
