As a third grade teacher, I work with students at all levels. During my literacy block I provide a lot of emerging, on-level, and above-level instruction, content support, and vocabulary/grammar development to my students on a daily basis. By the end of the 2015-2016 school year, I want my students to feel confident in their reading skills. My biggest challenge in getting them to enjoy and have a love for reading. Unfortunately, there is a lack of resources to support resourceful learning during literacy centers. My class consists of students from seven to eight years old. Each year these students have a diverse range of abilities and needs. However, with the right support and materials provided these students are capable of becoming exceptional readers.
