The school at which I am currently teaching is part of an extremely small and low-income district. The school serves students grades Pre-K through sixth, although music is only taught to first through sixth graders. The students are great kids and they would love to play more instruments, but due to a small budget, monies are directed towards resources for core subject areas such as math and language arts, rather than music. The students are very excited and look forward to playing instruments. It is my hope to create instruments with and for them so they might have more opportunities to make music.
