In our class, we have been building towns, making smoothies, designing advertisements, and analyzing health around the world! Students work in collaborative groups and use any device, like phones, I-Pads, Chromebooks, and even my personal laptop! They can stay engaged in class. However... some of our students do not have personal devices they can use! I had been hiding an iPad cart in my classroom, cleverly disguised as a storage shelf, so that students had devices to use, but they were discovered and reclaimed! What a shame! Imagine preparing for class and getting your devices ready only to have someone come in first thing and reclaim them. I can say... we all mourned the loss of our cart a little. So now, here we are trying to make a case for only classrooms, 2 health classes, without readily available technology. We know that technology is the future, and it is the way students learn. However, when we limit the technology they have access to, we are devaluing the education process itself.
