The students for whom this project will benefit are from one of the least-funded districts in our state. This is an old mill town with a high unemployment rate. Each class services a wide variety of academic abilities. While many of us feel adept at providing differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of our inner city students, we do not have access to current Technology in most classrooms. Our grade level teachers collaborate very closely to provide the best academic experiences possible for all learners. Additionally, there is a strong emphasis on cross grade collaboration to ensure students are being adequately prepared for the next level. After numerous hours of collaboration we have decided to pursue funding for Chromebooks for our students. In the meantime, teachers in our building have already begun working together to create differentiated curriculum based activities in Google. Teachers & students are excited by the potential of using Chromebooks in our school!
