Our school district is an urban area with all of students receiving free or reduced lunch. This is the second year that the district has had Universal Preschool for all students within the district that is provided between two early childhood centers. Within our school, there are 17 classrooms mixed between Early Childhood Special Education and Title 1 classrooms. I teach a Title 1 class with 8 girls and 10 boys, bringing my total to 18 students. My students love hands-on learning and learning through project-based curriculum. The students spend the majority of their time in school during center time, exploring and growing through play-based learning. The students in my classroom come from various past and home lives but while at school, they almost put it all behind and enjoy their times with their peers and their teachers. This is the first educational experience for my students and it will be an enjoyable one.
