The materials that I am requesting will further continue our mission within our school. Children learn so much through play; sharing, creativity, interacting with other children, etc. The new kitchen play set will help enforce those important skills to develop. I have seen my students create menus, take orders, and imagine to make and serve the most delicious food. The play dolls would be a great addition to the classroom. My goal is to add more items of different ethnicities. I want my students to see dolls that look similar to them, as well as, something that does not look like they do. The emotion mirrors would be perfect to show each emotion along with an example of that emotion. Many young children can not describe the emotion or how they are feeling. The mirrors will give them a picture to make it easier to label the emotion. I can then help make that connection and give feedback.
