My class is a group of curious thinkers, adventuresome leaders, and the best way to stoke these qualities is through reading new and interesting books. Read to Self time, as it's called in my classroom, is their favorite time of day. It enables my students that may not have access to books at home the ability to utilize our classroom library and read from many different genres while getting recommendations from other students as well. My students are a group of kids that are so eager to read. On our first day of school, their main question was, "When can we check-out books from the class library?!" I want to give them all of the access to new and classic novels I possibly can! This project can make a huge impact on their lives and character development.
