Our 2020-2021 school year will start on Monday, August 31, 2020, with virtual learning. To keep my students motivated about this very difficult transition I want to provide my students with incentives. Although my students are often motivated through constant praise and encouragement that would normally happen in a traditional classroom setting, this school year will start a and may end little different for most. I want to show my students that their hard work pays off and motivate them by providing weekly incentives for the student of the week and students that have been putting forth maximum effort. These gift cards will be given as weekly and monthly prizes as well as overall online participation awards. My students need intrinsic as well as extrinsic motivation to encourage them to continue to do their best during online learning. These gift cards will aid in increasing participation, overall achievement, and motivation of my students as we navigate this very difficult time in their educational experience.
