My students are joys and blessings. We live in a very small town in Maine. The school itself has under 200 students for a pre-k-6 school. I am the one of two second grade teachers and I love every minute of it. The students love to explore by doing. Many of them have parents that do manual labor for a living and they often go with them to work. They want to touch, to explore, and to try things on their own. They want to learn and they want to be "smart." We spend a large amount of time doing not just learning. If you walk into my classroom you will see students climbing under their desk to read, see students on whiteboards creating math problems for each other or on the few iPads we have playing math zombie with one another. They are amazing kids that I get to work with everyday.
