I am an inclusion teacher by morning, and a Special Education Resource Room teacher by afternoon. I work with a variety of students and grades during the day. I also share a classroom with another Intervention Specialist, and at times, a Speech Pathologist and Occupational Therapist. Together, grades K-6 are reached and a majority of the school population pass through the classroom at one point or another. I work in a rural school that continually faces budget cuts. Our administrators do what they can but sometimes supplies just are not there. A large number of my students are at or below the poverty level. Most of this subgroup do receive little to no educational support at home, so I try to find ways to excite them about school, but especially reading. Many of them detest reading and resist at all cost.
