In my classroom, the area of greatest need for my students is reading and language development. Many of my students enter the year significantly below grade level. My students struggle, due to a lack of resources in our classroom that provide multilingual books for all levels of readers. Also, there is a lack of resources for multilingual students to learn in both their native language and English. For my students, language should be seen as a strength not as barrier in their learning and growth. I am requesting three IPad's to provide my student's with structured opportunities to build their reading ability through listening to books in English and their native language. Applications on IPad's will also provide my students with language development through listening to increase their English language fluency. These IPads would lead to growth in not only reading but also in their language ability. This will change my students lives for the better because they will become more engaged in learning and grow as confident individuals.
