My students have a variety of backgrounds and stories. Some are new to the country and the English language, many have been practicing Reader's Workshop for years, and others are in a gifted and talented program. My school has been embracing new technology, and I would like to take the initiative to personalize my students' work with technology by designating some iPads for my students only. By having iPads on hand, students will not have to rely only on whole class trips to the Media Center where technology has to be signed out and app projects cannot be saved. No matter the experience and level of expertise of my students, having this technology available will allow them to imagine and bring to life independent projects that are not "assigned" in traditional, teacher-centered ways.
