I serve students studying World Literature as well as Debate. Most of my students are economically disadvantaged, and some are considered at-risk. All of my students are considered minorities. Despite the labels that have been placed upon them, they strive for excellence each day. According to Nelson Mandela, "The greatest weapon you can use to change the world is education." My students embody this pursuit daily in order to change not only their futures but the world. On a consistent basis, I aim to engage, encourage, and inspire my students to be the best versions of themselves. It comes as no surprise to me that they continue to exceed all expectations. Our school has an excellent purpose for creating first-generation college students. My purpose is to ensure that this opportunity is not left idle.
