This year students at Bow Elementary School had the opportunity to work with Master Drummer Sowah Mensah from Ghana. They absolutely loved learning from him and couldn't get enough of the drumming. In order for every student to have a drum while Sowah was visiting, I borrowed from two different music teachers in the area. I'm asking for help to purchase enough drums for all of my students to play without having to borrow or share. This allows students to focus (their minds wander when they're sharing and it's not their turn) and stay actively engaged while they learn. Because of the price of a quality drum for the students to learn with, I can't fit these drums into my regular budget for instruments.
