I work at a charter school in a low-income area. Many times my days are spent giving hugs and listening to what their needs are before I can begin to teach. My 2nd grade students are all at different learning levels. Some students may be below grade level academically. Some students may still be learning basic skills while other students are able to work on more advanced skills. My goal as a teacher is to teach each student at their level and to provide them with the best set of skills to work independently to achieve.
