Our school is a joyful place where all teachers work tirelessly to help our students become engaged and successful readers and writers. Over the past five years, our school library budget has been cut dramatically which has impacted the number of books available for our students and for instruction. One way that our teachers inspire students is by reading aloud multiple books every day. The goal of our daily read-alouds is to model literacy strategies and the joy of reading and writing. We have many students who are striving learners and who find reading and writing challenging. By providing them with interactive read-alouds and clear instruction on strategies, we have seen students fall in love with learning and make dramatic strides in their literacy development.
