With these books, my classroom library will become the diverse learning experience I strive to provide for my students. Each and every one of these books has been chosen with the diverse backgrounds in mind that make up my students in my class. I want my students to have more opportunities to read about heroes they can connect to and look up to. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interest of my students. I want and need my classroom library to reflect this. Creating a reading selection that is current and matches the interests of my students is crucial to their learning. When my students are able to connect personally to a story, they are going to learn more. They are craving books that have characters, heroes and stories they can relate to and look up to. The best way for my students to improve their reading abilities is to read more and with books that they love, they will then love to read! Recreating a classroom library that can do this for them will enhance their student, school, learning and life experiences.
