I teach 6th grade science to seventy-five 6th graders at a Title I school. We have a large English as a Second Language population. Our students perform well on standardized tests due in part to many hand-on, engaging learning experiences. This will be a beginning activity on a year long environmental science focus which will end with the children creating a vegetable garden.
