The carving supplies that are requested will give students the opportunity to experience creating sculptures just like artists who work with marble or stone, just like Michelangelo or Donatello! We'll be working with the popular Plaster of Paris material to carve from. Since safety is a priority in my classroom, students will also require goggles as they work with the plaster, protecting their eyes from dust and debris. Once this project is complete, my students will continue using the tools for other sculpting materials like wax and clay this year. The possibility of future projects are endless since we will be able to use most of these supplies over and over!
