iPads will provide my Kindergarteners with the capability to research passion projects at their fingertips. They will provide them with the ability to take control of their learning. Students will be given opportunities to use iPads to research project ideas, read/listen to books, learn new skills of interest, look up recipes, work on project based learning and set up a digital portfolio with goals. Receiving iPads will transform the way my students engage with their own learning. The first project that I plan to implement is digital portfolios for each student. The digital portfolio is a means for students and teachers to work together to establish goals and track learning/activities throughout the year. They provide an excellent way to demonstrate individual student growth and can be easily updated frequently during the year. Students will have the opportunity to set goals, track their learning and help decide what other evidence of learning should be included in their portfolio. Students will have the opportunity to privately share their portfolios with their families.
