I expect my students to use problem solving skills to solve a real world problem, involving relief packages in disaster areas. This will involve critical thinking strategies, collaboration, discussion, and developing a plan that will ensure a successful and efficient delivery package. First of all, the students will be engaged since it is a hands-on project. My students do not get too many opportunities to experience hands-on real world activities that are fun, innovative, and standards based. The little experience they do get has been from projects that I have created or purchased. I hope these materials will inspire and motivate my students towards learning and growing in the engineering field. The more they become exposed to engineering and technology, since it is the way of the future, the better suited they will be to get a prestigious job in the future.
