My classroom is a learning environment that offers students frequent opportunities to think critically, utilize technology, and to move. I'd like the furniture to further support student learning by offering them voice and choice in how and where they work. I want them to be able to find comfort and success through choice. I want this classroom to be a home away from home for my students, while also offering a variety of seating options for each student's learning style. These materials will allow the classroom to transform into a more home like feel, where their sense of independence will lead them further in their education! The beanbags would allow a quiet place to read in cozy comfort. The stability balls will support those who need some proprioceptive input, while the stools provide gentle movement for a calming effect. These flexible seating options will be beneficial in all subject areas, especially reading! By donating to this project, we will build not only successful first graders, but our future citizens!
