My second grade students love to read and listen to stories. The listening center would be a place where students can sit and listen to books on CDs during small group reading instruction. I hope the listening center will keep them wanting to hear and read more books. A child who reads will become an adult who thinks. The listening center will allow students to listen and read books above their reading level. It will expose them to many different forms of literature. The listening center will open the students to new adventures in reading, improve word acquisition and language skills.
