My students come from a very rural area in Northeast Georgia. Although we live only a few miles from a large city, some of my students have never had the experiences many would think of as normal. Our community is very agricultural, which means many students live far away from neighbors. School is their opportunity to have new experiences, learn and socialize with friends.
