Our kindergarten classroom is designed to give students authentic learning experiences. Our classroom is a part of a fine arts magnet school and so we love incorporating the arts into our regular curriculum in the classroom. To make learning more authentic for students, we are a project-based learning classroom, where students are uncovering the standards through working toward the goal of answering a driving question such as "How can we better meet the needs of all people in our city?" to cover economic standards or "How can we improve our outdoor spaces at school to make them a better habitat for local wildlife?" to cover standards about plants' and animals' needs. Student choice and voice is very important in our classroom, including in students options for seating while they are working in groups or independently.
